About Mi Dinero
MiDinero is a Uruguayan financial services company that offers prepaid debit cards. It is a convenient and secure way for individuals to manage their finances, including making payments, transferring money, receiving salaries and benefits, and accessing various financial services.
The Challenge
MiDinero was facing a critical challenge in strengthening the security of its identity verification processes. The company is seeking to enhance the security of its Mi Dinero card issuance process, which currently involves manual data capture and validation. Their key challenges were to handle: Vulnerabilities in manual identity verification, enhance security, and adhere to regulatory standards for identity verification.
The Solution
We provided MiDinero with our own face recognition solution. We integrated DSBio (Facial Recognition System by Digital Sense) to MiDinero’s Mobile App. This enabled:
- If the users’ ID has an integrated chip and the phone enables NFC reading, the app can compare the image of the ID with a selfie taken from different angles by the user in real time.
- If the ID card does not have a chip or the phone does not have an NFC reader, the system prompts the user to enter their ID number and document number. With this information, the system consults the National Identity and Citizenship Directorate (DNIC) to verify the status of the document. This query also returns an image of the issued ID, which can be used to compare with the image uploaded by the user.
