About Belize

The Belizean government has prioritized digital transformation in its short-term development agenda. There is a comprehensive e-government plan to achieve the country's e-government vision of 'an integrated and collaborative government that delivers secure, quality public services that connect and empower people.

The Challenge

At the heart of Belize's digital transformation is the need to create a National Identification and Citizen Registry that enables access to public and private services through a digital platform. They needed a company to provide strategic advice on the treatment of biometric data, including identifying and assessing all existing biometric databases and initiatives, as well as recommendations for an integrated approach for the management of biometric data in Belize to support the National ID ecosystem.

The Solution

We provided an in-depth consultancy to provide Belize’s Government a detailed research of all the possible solutions for their National ID system, including the one they were already working with.
Presented a detailed roadmap, strategy and action plan considering the path that the government wanted to follow combined with our experience with biometrics. This led to a clear approach for Belize to follow for their biometric data.
